چکیده
Introduction Many pathways that regulate gene expression target the complex process of protein synthesis and in particular its initiation stage. During the past 40 years or so, all the initiation factors required for the assembly of translationally competent ribosomes have been identified and their principal roles determined. Recently, there has been significant progress in determining the structure of the components of the translation apparatus: from crystal structures of prokaryotic ribo somes, to crystal and nuclear magnetic resonance structures of factors, and cryo-electron microscopy reconstructions of functional ribo somal complexes. These advances now allow the molecular mechanisms of the stages involved in initiation to be

Up-Regulation of TPT1-AS1 and SAMMSON and Down-Regulation of LINC00961 Long Non-Coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as Potential Tumor Markers in Gastric Cancer
Background and Objective:Gastric Cancer (GC) is one of the deadliest cancers in the world. Recently, LINC00961, TPT1-AS1, and SAMMSON Long non-coding RNA (lncRNAs)have been discovered, which significantly contribute to the occurrence of various cancers. This study aimed to determine the expression levels of these genes in GC tissues, compared to healthy adjacent tissues, and the relationship of...
متن کاملInsight into post-transcriptional gene regulation: stress-responsive microRNAs and their role in the environmental stress survival of tolerant animals.
Living animals are constantly faced with various environmental stresses that challenge normal life, including: oxygen limitation, very low or high temperature, as well as restriction of water and food. It has been well established that in response to these stresses, tolerant organisms regularly respond with a distinct suite of cellular modifications that involve transcriptional, translational a...
متن کاملInduction of apoptosis and necrosis in human acute erythroleukemia cells by inhibition of long non-coding RNA PVT1
Recent advances in molecular medicine have proposed new therapeutic strategies for cancer. One of the molecular research lines for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer is the use of long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) which are a class of non-coding RNA molecules longer than 200 base pairs in length that act as the key regulator of gene expression. Different aspects of cellular activities like cell...
متن کاملControl of Fur synthesis by the non-coding RNA RyhB and iron-responsive decoding.
The Fe2+-dependent Fur protein serves as a negative regulator of iron uptake in bacteria. As only metallo-Fur acts as an autogeneous repressor, Fe2+scarcity would direct fur expression when continued supply is not obviously required. We show that in Escherichia coli post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms ensure that Fur synthesis remains steady in iron limitation. Our studies revealed that ...
متن کاملGlobal analysis of ribosome-associated noncoding RNAs unveils new modes of translational regulation
Eukaryotic transcriptomes contain a major non-protein-coding component that includes precursors of small RNAs as well as long noncoding RNA (lncRNAs). Here, we utilized the mapping of ribosome footprints on RNAs to explore translational regulation of coding and noncoding RNAs in roots of Arabidopsis thaliana shifted from replete to deficient phosphorous (Pi) nutrition. Homodirectional changes i...
